How We Can Help
Foot Pain & Orthotics
The Courtyard Clinic is a centre of excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and management of foot and heel pain. Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like the foundation of a house, your feet support the weight of everything above them.
When a small problem develops in your feet, the subtle change in the way you walk can cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and gait. These changes can put stress on joints higher up your body and lead to more serious problems.
The courtyard clinic provides state of the art scanning technology and prescription orthotics for the treatment of foot pain and analysis of movement to help restore balance utilising the footscan system.
Faulty foot mechanics may lead to problems occurring elsewhere in the body particularly the knees and hips.
What is Footscan?
Footscan is scanning system that captures around 500 pictures of your feet per second through thousands of tiny sensors and measures the distribution of pressure through your feet. This information is then analysed to determine the need for orthotic therapy.
What is an Orthotic?
Orthotic insoles are an orthopaedic device designed to treat foot function problems by improving foot movement. Orthotics are designed for the individual utilising the data and images from the scan, biomechanical assessment by one of our clinicians and a foam impression of your foot.
How do Orthotics work?
Orthotics work by correcting the problems that can lead to foot, knee, hip and back pain, making standing, walking and running more comfortable, efficient and pain free. Whatever age you are or activities you are involved in orthotics can help from ball room dancing to triathlons.
